Thai lawmakers' casino legalization adviser, Woodon Olsen, will be a speaker at this year's Global Game Expo (G2E) Asian Casino Trade Fair and Conference in Macau, Venice, from June 4-6.
As of Monday, Alejandro Tenko, chairman and chief executive of Philippine play and games company Pagcor, the Philippines' casino regulator, was scheduled to be the keynote speaker for the final day of G2E Asia, according to a schedule provided online.
Tenco has been in the news frequently since taking on Pagcore's leadership position. At the time of Pagcore's first-quarter earnings call on Sunday, the CEO reportedly said that Pagcore's eGames segment will be a major revenue stream for Pagcore "this year and in the years to come as innovation and technology integration allow us to bring more interest and convenience to gamers."
Thai Prime Minister Olsen's appearance at this year's G2E Asia also made headlines. In late March, Thai lawmakers supported a study recommending that Thailand allow casinos in its proposed large entertainment complexes.
At this G2E Asia, Frederick Gooshin, Managing Director and CEO of Spectrum Gaming Group, will hold a first day session of the event called "The Spotlight in Thailand and the Middle East" to discuss the potentially emerging casino market.
G2E Asia is hosted by RX and the American Game Association, formerly known as the Lead Exhibition.
Other speakers from the G2E Asia region announced Monday include Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Angela Hanley, UBS AG's deputy director of research Angus Chan, Cambodian Commercial Gambling Commission adviser Daniel Lee and Hotel Stochenberg chief executive Evan Spitma of Clark, Philippines.
The list of G2E Asia speakers also includes: Spectrum Gaming Group's senior vice president Paul Bromberg, Morgan Stanley Asia Inc's executive director Praveen Choudary, and Seaport Research Partners' gaming senior research analyst Vitali Umansky.
Chaudhary's session on June 4 is called "Asian Games Market Outlook." The same afternoon, "Emerging Market Talk" will be held with panelists including Bloomberg's Hanley, UBS' Chan, Hotel Stotsbenberg's Daniel Lee and Spitma.
